Tanzania 2012 Day 2: Schools, Meru Village, and a feast at Kapanya's house
For this day, Kapanya told us we'd be "very busy." He wasn't kidding. After taking photos of monkeys on the lodge property, we visited his daughter's school to present her with a new backpack. We visited the school where he teaches to talk to his students about the importance of education, then we went on to see the sacred trees of the Meru people. We stopped at the family home of our guide, Nema, to see how they live and how her profession impacts them, then we had a feast at Kapanya's house before getting packed for the mountain.
